What does T-Mobile USA have against the term "SMS?" At least when you call customer care the IVR understands if you ask "how many SMS have I used?" I would've voted for #SMS# (#767#)

The reason for the #MSG# is the new messaging bundles. Since you won't be having just SMS, the system will tell you how many messages have been used from your bucket (SMS, MMS, IM, or Email).
