Ok...so last month i changed my voice plan to the get more promo which is 1,000 anytime and unl n/w for 45.99
thats all great and everything right?

well i live in nyc, and my friend who lives in so cal told me she just changed her plan as well, but hers is 39.99
and i'm like what? why am i paying 5 dollars more for the same exact plan? my friend told me when she was on the phone with the rep, the rep told her it was local-area promotional plan for so-cal

so of course i am jealous. well today randomly i go onto mytmobile to just browse my account info and stuff...well anyways i have so many rollover minutes with cingular i was considering downgrading my sidekick to the data only plan.

so i take a gander at some possible rate p...

Correct, it goes by the area code of your phone number. Its actually a west code promo, that T-Mobile started so I think only states located on the West-coast can get that plan. I am also in NYC, and I have been waitin for that plan.

I let that plan go back last year when it was $39.99. I didn't know if I would have enough money to extend my contract since I was off contract at the moment. Then when they did bring it back, it got raised by $5.00 which isn't that bad compared to Cingular's price plans for the same minutes.

Actually, it's not just the west coast, there are several markets that the plan is available in. Also, you might just want to check what plan you really switched to because if you aren't in the correct sub market, our billing system won't allow the change, period. We have a $39.99 1000 minute without n/w plan, and that one is available everywhere. I can't tell you how many people see that promotion advertised and swear they saw it advertised with n/w, but it's not...so just to be on the safe side, I'd check. I can't remember though off the top of my head if the n/w plan is available in NYC market (so it might be in which case you prob did get it), but I know for sure it's not just the west coast.

i know what 39.99 plan you are talking about the one without n/w but i definitly switched over to the "BEST VALUE - Get More 1000 PROMO" which is 39.99 for 1,000 w/ n/w
i switched from the "Get More Plus PROMO" which is the same details only 45.99 monthly.

and its not offered in NYC i just double checked again. i didnt know where else it was offered except the west coast.

so if the billing system won't allow the change, whats going to happen? i did it on mytmobile and it says its pending to change when my next cycle starts which is really soon. and i've already agreed to extend my contract and everything...?

thank you for your input and for not being rude about it lol

lol no worries, well like for us-if we try to put in the rate plan code it will allow it to be put in there, but then when you try to save the changes it will say "this plan is not available in the subscribers sub market" Makes me wonder though...you say you've moved a couple of times? I wonder if your accounts sub market is not set up in an area where that plan is available, but you just have a different billing address.

I am just curious, why would you use a 310, 213, 909, ect. if you live on the east coast? the 310 is already overpopulated as is.. they keep trying to split it and *magically* finding more numbers they had thought were used 🙄

Yeah, did they pass the new area code 424 yet???

and the reason for doing what i did is because i have two other cell phones, with relevant area codes and the sidekick i initially purchased just for data and i ended up getting a calling plan with activating it and i saw no use in having two numbers with the same area code, plus i am from so-cal and i travel there often and do a little business there so it made sense to have a number in that area again since i've moved from san diego... 😉

and i have a 323...considered 310 but i went with 323

No, the 424 has not came out yet. People in the 310 rather have the prestige of using the 310 then having to overlay itself with a lesser number LOL. I can't see them splitting it either, the people in the southbay would have a fit, which would most likely get the new one. Oh and, people are too lazy to type in 11 digits.
