Okay, I finally got hold of a copy of EasyGPRS and it is not, in fact, vaporware. On the contrary, it's a nifty little utility and I like it very much. I had a big old file of 300 .mmf ringtones sitting around on my laptop and I sent a bunch of them to my phone, along with some images and backed up my phonebook, SMS records, scheduled alerts and call records on my hard drive. It also lets one send SMS using the computer keyboard, and I'm looking forward to getting the settings to try using the phone as a modem. The infrared works a lot better and easier than I'd been led to believe, all in all a nice little program.

Some days I really enjoy being a geeky person... 😎

Do you it a Samsung phone? I did you it last year when I was using my Samsung E715 as a modem with the $19.99 T-Mobile Unlimited Internet plan, but I got a refund after T-Mobile was charging me for Megabyte usuage eventhough I had the special plan. My bill jumped to almost $200. My bill usually came to $50 without that plan. They couldn't figure out why I was being charged so much eventhough I had the special unlimited internet plan. So that made me return it for my $70. I didn't want to have to keep calling customer care, and having them keep filing billing issue tickets.
