is T-mobile releasing Samsung SGH-D500?
I'm From UK and staying in southern California, I was wondering if T-mobile is releasing this phone cause I went to a T-mobile store and ask them if they could get me another V635 and I show them mine that I carried from UK. They said they can't but they offer me a RAZR V3 and the Samsung SGH-D500, so i said I'll be back I need to know the phone first like I always do. They give me the spec on D500 but still I double my decision cause I have a V635 and thats like my bench mark.
So right now still have to make a decision about the phone or call someone in UK to get me a V635. But then again I check the internet I can't find the D500 offered by T-mobile.
Now, I wonder if they really just releasing it?

The D500 will not be offered for T-Mobile USA. What you see and buy from overseas sometimes do not make it over to the United States.

I think you miss read the post or was it confussing. I said I live here now in Torrance CA / southern california and went to the store here. I was trying to make them get me a V635 but no they can't but they offer me a D500.

I have never lost it! đ I know you are in California, but you said that they offered to get you a D500. Right then and there you, are not talking about a T-Mobile Direct Store. You went to an authorized dealer.

If the store offered it to you, then they must have information that it is coming to T-Mo, if they are a T-Mobile only store and not one of the cell dealers that sells all cells (yes that was horrible pun). So, my guess is that they have a list of phones that will be coming in soon and that was on it.

He meant an indirect T-Mobile store, cause a regular T-Mobile direct store wouldn't have info on overseas phones.

Hope you are right, the SGH-D500 doesn't really impress me if his baseline is the V635. It has half the features and capabilities as it is listed right now.

The store is in the corner of Chrenshaw and Sepulveda. I went inside looking around and this rep. ask me what im looking for I said phone that is better than this I show him my V635 and hes stare for a long time ...LOL and said we will have a phone(D500) coming out, then he said wait 3 weeks but want me to sign a contract now...lol that guy is funny want me to sign a contract without seeing the phone...I walk out smiling and said see ya when you have the phone and I'll come back. đ¤Ŗ

Oh my goodness. I have been to that store. You were lucky they even talked to you. I was there for over 30 minutes and no one even notice me. I was the guy in the business atire looking at phones. Go figure, I should have worn something more trendy. And then he tries to sell you something that isn't even out yet and thought it was as good as the V635. Did he even know what he was looking at is my question? Gotta love my fellow Californians. Especially the newer generation. They are truly fun and great to hang out with, but give them a job in sales at a T-Mobile dealer and it's over. Thats funny after I got of that store saw M8 wireless across the street decided to go there. The girl there told me the same thing. Close my account and get a new one = new number and everthing and also offered me a Sony Ericson 700i(unlocked) for $200 with contract. Wow she is dumb.....man. We'll after talking with for a while her co-worker got back from somewhere and I also ask him about phone. What he said is thats the only way I get a good discount on the phone if i cancel and get a new contract/new number. I wonder how many idiots they got to sign with them.....LOL. Also I can't believe they are still in buisness.

I am wondering quite the same thing about M8. How does a tiny store with no inventory and ingnorant representatives stay in business. I knew more about phones and discounts then they did. That truly is sad. But then again, I have gone to several cell stores that were direct and indirect and the ingorance is wonderfully overflowing. The price I pay for being a US citizen born and bred and not English or European. Average cell phones several months, if not years after they get them in the UK and Europe and ignorant service at my local dealer. Wouldn't be so bad, but I always thought teenagers knew more about technology and cell phones that I do. They seem like they know more, but then you go to the store and they try and prove me wrong...

Don't feel bad about that. I actual feel kinda of stupid not being on cingular sometimes bacause most, if not all of my friends are on Cingular and I am the only one on T-Mo. I end up burning minutes when I don't need to talking to them. Guess I'm the goofy one.

True, I get 1000 minutes for 39.99, but would I really need all those minutes when all my friends are on cingular. Although I like have that number for calls in general. I agree with you, but Cingular also gets all the cool new phone first âšī¸ I like T-Mo for sure and unlike many people I don't hate Cingular at all. I just really like T-Mo, I just wish they had the newer phones sooner. I guess it really doesn't matter much, I buy phones one ever 2-3 years anyway.

yup thats right Ebay and T-Mobile will help you all they can when you have an International phone like my V635 which is working properly. All I have to do is sign up for there free phone and transfer my Sim card. Its like N-gage.

You will be paying double($200 for cancelling you contract, plus you will still have to wait 90 days just to resign up with a carrier with the same on the account) and maybe an activation fee. Don't fall for that.
