question about sim card transfer

My dad has the Samsung SGH-V205 and would maybe like to upgrade to moto 330, the only problem is that he does not want to lose his contacts (he knows that he will be able to retrieve all numbers but wont have the type of phone ie:mobile, home, etc)...is there any better way to do this, maybe sync up with outlook..please help, thanks

You can do that . . . but it would require you to have the USB adapter for your Samsung phone, the drivers for you Samsung phone. Both of these available off of the Samsung website - or most T-Mobile corporate dealers will carry them. Don't buy the aftermarket ones that most agent locations sell - they usually won't work.

Then . . . you have to have the USB adapter for the Motorola V330 (unless your computer is bluetooth capable, that is) and a copy of Motorola phone tools, which you can download off of the Motorola website for $30.

The USB adapters(if you don't already have them) could run as high as $50-60 each, plus the cost of Motorola Mobile Phone Tools ($30), or you could by a bluetooth dongle for $30. Either way, your looking ...

You do want to save all the information right?

I think what you would want to do is to use the mobile phone tools from Samsung to get the contacts into Outlook. Then you would use mobile phone tools from Motorola to get them onto the V330.

There might be a way to do it without the drivers - but I'm not sure how. I've always just used the drivers to do that sort of thing in the past. They seem to work pretty seemlessly.
