T-mobile and 850 MHz Question
Does anyone know anything more about this?
I really want to get the E730, but if T-mobile is rolling out with 850, I'd like to be able to take advantage of it. I don't know if T-mobile has any 850 agreements here in KY, or if its just the "pulling a signal out of nowhere" power that Nokia's have - but when I got the Nokia 6010 I noticed a world of difference in reception 😳 . Again, not sure if this is 850 related, but I'm quite aware of the advantages that the 850 band has in rural areas, which I go to quite often.

850MHz will not be available where T-Mobile has NATIVE 1900MHz coverage! It will only be in areas where they are lacking coverage, and want to expand in the rural areas.
While this is typically the case, as I was sure it would be, there a few places that appear on the ICM(CC's version of PPC) where 850 is adjacent to native 1900 tmobile coverage, it is reasonable to think it would be possible to access these networks. When I say adjacent I mean 850 coverage begins where tmobile coverage ends, I am sure with a simple manual network selection you can access 850 roaming coverage or 1900 tmobile coverage by choice where the coverage overlaps.

I don't know if its just the power of the Nokia, or the 850 part - but I am now able to get nearly all 7 bars! (Although it does fluctuate, but no more dropping calls or losing signal)
By the way, this is when I moved to the outskirts of town. My E315 didn't have any problems in the city. The PCC map shows I should have fair coverage, but the E315 didn't seem to think so. I decided to give the Nokia a try because I hear nothing but good things about them, and ...
