Funny Scenario

So...this guy calls in to cancel his service, so I ask for his reason why...

He's been with us since 1998 on a $9/month (yes 9...like nine) rate plan. It was a "state of utah employee" plan, and it wasn't even that great...45 minutes and 500 text messages. all the same though, he didn't use but that many.

He wanted to cancel because he quit working for the state of utah, and moved to ohio, and we wouldn't let him keep his plan if he changed his number to a local Ohio number.

I asked him if he had any other problems. He said "no man the service works great, I've had no problems with it, and I don't have any problems here (meaning ohio)"

So, I slowly repeated "so you want to cancel your service with us because you have a state of...

I think he is crazy! He is not gonna find a plan cheaper than what he had. He will feel stupid, once he finds out that no carrier offers that. If he calls back, would yall give him that plan back? I hope he comes to his senses. He might be thinkin g of going to Cingular.

i havent left cingular, i left tmobile for cingular and have yet to go back. Im nervous about going back to the smaller coverage area and uncertainty about its future. And I am also waiting for the Nokia 6101 or 6102. I wish T-Mobile had a plan comparable to what I pay at Cingular. I pay 31.99 after my discount for 450 minutes, unlimited nigghts and weekends and mobile to mobile. Wish they could match.

I was gonna get that plan last year in March of 2004, but I wasn't sure if I was gonna have enough funds to keep my cell phone service. But, once I made sure I did, I found out that it ended in April of last year. I was pissed. I kept calling them and they said they didn't know when or if it would come back. Then they finally announced it coming back for it would be $45.99 a month, and I got it in January of this year. I am paying only $5.00 more a month to get 400 minutes more than the 600 minutes with Unlimited Nights and weekends for $39.99 a month. I am glad that I got the $45.99 plan, cause the 600 minutes was causing me to go over my minutes. Now I am in the safe zone.

wow, you went over 600 minutes a month! I have the Basic plus plan and I get 300 minutes with unlimited weekends, and I don't go over 300! In fact I have 33 minutes left for Monday my last day of the July billing cycle!

Yeah, now I am doing good with the 1000 minutes and Unlimited Nights and Weekends. I like having extra minutes, so I don't go over. How do you deal with 300 minutes a month, with unlimited weekends, and not have Unlimited nights. Thats crazy.

honestly...after 9pm, I'm either asleep on the couch, on some occasions hanging out with friends or spending time with my family. I'm one of those, too who don't really care about night time minutes. I value more whenever minutes, but if I had a carrier that offered nights at 7, I would probably have that, too.

I get unlimited weekends, just no nights. But I don't care. My bill is 30 a month, which is half of what most people pay a month anyways. I don't do text messaging any more and I stopped downloading games and hi-fi ringers because they cost too much and I end up deleting half of them anyways.

Simple: I am a light user. I don't need night minutes anyways, cuz I have no one to really talk to. Plus the unlimited weekends works great for me. I am a poor person so I can't afford much.

Yeah, actually...he has 90 days to reactivate. Well, technically, he has to keep that number, or another utah number to keep that rate plan. After 60 days, the numbers are released back into the system. Not that we couldn't get another utah number, but I'd think after it was released, our system may or may not allow it to be reserved and reactivated with that plan. Our billing system is strange like that...I've been ...

I think 45 minutes a month is garbage. I would use 45 minutes in one day. I still think he is crazy on some level.

Well, most of those old plans if not all of them are regional, so if he does use the phone in Ohio, most likely he'd be charged a Roaming fee,eh? So maybe the guy does have a method to his madness
