For T-Mobile
1) Do you report good credit to
to credit agency?
No.
(2) Can I have a one year contract?
Yes.
(3) How long before I'm eligible for phone upgrade?
Technically every 30 days with a partial discount. For full discount, once every 11 months of *active* service, on a qualifying plan and 11 months since your last discounted handset. (qualifying pricing plan: $39.99 for an individual line, or $69.99 on a family plan) *active* time meaning if you are suspended for a non-pay reason, that month will not count towards your tenure
(4) Can I use data service while roaming?
For the most part, yes but we can't guarantee it nor troubleshoot it very accurately if you do have problems.
(5) Do I pay to roam off the network?
Depe...

Well, somewhat....it changes the credit class on the account. All that means is going from either a "t" or "q" class to a "w" class for our billing system you are automatically approved for a second line with no deposit and it lifts off the restrictions from your account associated with smartaccess. That is for our use only. We don't report good credit to the credit agencies. On the opposite side though, we don't report bad credit either (if you have a perpetual late payment habit, constantly getting suspended or canceled for not paying your bill etc...)unless the account becomes written off, in which case, well...that's a VERY last ditch effort and many, many, many attempts are made to resolve a due balance/collect payment before that happe...

No phone company reports good credit. They do not extend credit so they are not a reporting company. However, if you are delinquent and it goes to collections they all report that.

Very is still better. You can USE your phone in more places, You do have a option for a one year agreement with a phone upgrade, very 11 months. On a two year plan as long as you have a 59.99 plan or higher and get promo price, plus if you go two years you will get a extra 100 bucks of promo pricing on phones.By the time t-mo gets there 3-g network the market will be full with sprint, verizon, and cingular leading the pack.Younger customers that spend more money you matbe able to do that, but once those customers become more educated they will go to verizon for network realiablity.SO "Can you hear me now? Good!!

I agree. I used to be with Verizon, and I paid quite a bit more for less minutes. And, since I don't plan on travelling to rural areas much and do plan to travel overseas, I think T-Mobile is where I plan to stay.

If EDGE service is coming soon and there are some good phone offerings (including some new smartphones), I can see myself staying with T-Mobile for a long time...

Being the biggest is not always the best. For T mobile I probally get more value then you guys at verizon do and have data services avalible in just as many places. I have found that my T mobile has hardly any dropped calls and pretty good reception. As JD power rated Tmobile best in fewist dropped calls for the south west which is where I live. Thats the price you pay for keeping analog. Now that digital coverage is really good and having roaming agreements in place with cingular and many other carriers im free to roam and surf the web with no cost bet you can't get that at Verizon.

Can you get the point now good

Wow. Your post is really awesome! I especially love the last two paragraphs! You really brought it home there! I am one of those budget-concious customers who limits himself on the minutes and I pay only 30 dollars a month for 300 Whenever minutes, and unlimited weekends, and I still have a hard time using all of those minutes. I will eventually go to T-Mobile To-Go because my phone usage is going to decrease to the point where it will be cheaper for me to have prepaid. I will keep my reliable Moto V300 and still keep T-Mobile because they are reliable in chicago!
