PTT
Anybody know if T-Mo plans to release PTT in the near future?
...
It's highly unlikely.
T-Mobile's current focus is deploying EDGE over their entire network. After this is complete T-Mobile will be turning their attention to their 3G upgrade, UMTS.
T-Mobile currently has no need for PTT. PTT, for the most part, benefits business users. The majoriy of T-Mobile's customer base would have no interest in PTT (due to M2M) and would likely result in wasted time and money.
Sorry.

I have to agree 100%. So could someone explain boost mobile for me? 😕

Nextel wanted to get into the pre-paid arena. Boost was their first step into that, and because Nextel has never offered M2M, only PTT, they felt obligated to include that option with Boost.
How useful is it? Not very, but believe it or not, customers use it. 😕 Beats me...

Also, when Nextel made an agreement to offer a pre-paid service through Boost Mobile (in conjuction with Boost, in Australia) PTT was just becoming a hot commodity. At that point in time no carriers offered M2M throughout their entire customer base, and Nextel was the only one to offer an unlimited usage option within the customer base via PTT. Naturally the option was included in their prepaid offerings, as it was seen as an innovative and revolutionary idea at the time.
