I stopped waiting for new handset! Gimme the 6681/6682!
Hey y'all,
I have given up all hope on Tmo coming out with a phone to replace my yummy nokia 3650 that has treated me so well for almost 2 yrs.
I have decided to purchase unlocked phone via 3rd party.
Are there any cons to doing this? Will Tmo hate me forever?
I have become smitten with the nokia 6681/6682. It does all the great things the 3650 does and more.
Any input/mudslinging shall be accepted. 😲

I have a 3650 also, love it. I like 6682 too. think Cingular is getting it. How about HTC Tornado that is rumored to come to T-mo, this unit has Wi-Fi, quad-band, bluetooth, EDGE, memory slot, camera, etc.

Yea, I was considering that as well. Unfortunately I sync alot with my Mac and the Symbian OS is much more friendly for that.
The nokia series 60 smartphones are out of this world and keep getting closer to what a high end phone should be. If you are going to drop that much coin on a handset it must be a multifunction friendly device, otherwise what's the point.
I may end up going 3rd party to satiate my desires for a new handset. I haven't quite figured that one out yet. 😕

I heard that if you buy an unlocked phone you will not be able to use any internet reallatted feature do to how all the phone companies have diferent incriptted internet, t mobil has t zones sprint has vision and so on. i don't know how 100 % accurate this statement is but it certainly was enough to scare me off from dropping $500 on a unlocked treo to use. if any one knows different or other wise or can even confirm futher this is true please let us know.

That is not true. I have been with T-Mobile in the Chicagoland area for almost four years now and I can't remember the last time I purchased a phone from T-Mobile. I have a CF Card that I use with my Dell Axim X50v and a Nokia 6260. Both work just fine with GPRS. Additionally, there are sites out there that tell you how to configure the internet on your phone. When I bought my Nokia 6260, I went to my tmobile and told it I have the 6250 and to send the configurations to my phone and it worked just fine.
