T-Mobile has coverage where people actually live. The vast majority of the non-coverage areas are rural places where you have a house every five miles. There are still some places (North and South Carolina in particular) where there just aren't towers but pick a major city and you're likely to find plenty of coverage. Heck, I live in a not so big city, rural Idaho (up in the panhandle) and I get great reception on my T-mobile phone.
