what frequencies are prevalent around Birmingham, AL

A friend just bought the Voq Professional phone on closeout at Woot. It is set for the Cingular frequencies, and she currently has a T-Mobile account.

Is the 850/900 issue a big deal in the Alabama area? Or are there enough 1800/900 frequencies that she might see decent phone service.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

We might test it with my Cingular SIM to compare the difference.

She'll pick up good 900mhz service in Europe. 😉

T-Mobile runs 1900mhz. I think they roam on some 800?? I may be wrong. But you will definitely want to get a phone with 1900. Where did she get a phone that is programmed with Cingular that runs on 1800/900??

Looks like pretty good 1900 MHZ coverage in Birmingham.

900/1800 mhz frequencies are int'l frequencies only. All US (and most North American) companies use either 850 or 1900.
