t-mobile get more?

VZW429

honestly the only thing i got more of was dropped calls and dead zones!
i love how they say you'll get more service, when really YOU DONT! true i got more minutes but i couldnt use them i was pretty much always out of serive. i don't know why you all stay with t-mobile. i had them for 1 week and i hated it! be smart and just go to verizon it is truly more dependable and cdma is just better than gsm it as much better sound quality. and if you're one of those i hate verizon becuase its so expensive people, i suggest you go to cingular. it has more service but the same crappy sound quality of gsm.

Bah, I don't see why everyone bashes T-Mobile. They are pretty similar to Canada's own Fido. OKAY, they aren't the best. OKAY, their coverage isn't as big as Verizon, or any other US carrier, but if you don't travel too much, and coverage is good where you live, how much of a problem can it be? And their Gold Rewards program for Prepaid customers is something I've just never seen any damn provider in Canada offer. Buisness-wise my phone'll definitively be a Verizon, since Nextel have been purchased by Sprint, which I haven't heard much good about. But for a personal phone, I'll definitively opt for T-Mobile. And besides, I own a Siemens M46, so even if I were to go with Cingular, I would only use PCS band anyways.

Yea i agree, Different places have different quality for each carrier, he says t-mobile has horrible reception? Not here where i live, i always get reception!

You get what you pay for!!! If T-mobile had excellent coverage like Verizon you would be paying Verizon prices too! If you think coverage may be iffy where you live, use the personal coverage check or 14 day return policy to see if coverage is ok enough to keep b/c you will save money having T-mobile.

Too bad we can't get them to do that in Palos Verdes, CA. Unfortunately the Palos Verdes community refuses to allow more towers. But they love to complain about poor cell phone reception.

T mobile Can put one up in the next town over maybe and face the antennas in your direction because they reach op to seven miles but the best rang is about 5 miles

That seems like it would make sense most of the time, but 1900 MHz RF is line of site for the most part and Palos Verdes is anything but flat. That is the reason coverage there is not very good. Even if you put a tower on the highest point within 5 miles of PV, it would still be lower than the hills of PV. Good thought though.

one more TMOBILE can put antennas on top of building roof tops, its small not like a tower its probly about 5 feet tall because it was the same issues over here in NJ. i live near the suburbs and people didnt want a tower so the found a way to do it any way and its lke that all over jersey and in my neighbor hood. All off the main service providers did the same thing

Na, I just moved to Compton, better reception. I only go to Palos Verdes now for golfing. Long live the hood, good coverage and plenty of excitement to be had by all.... 😁

Seriously, I will have to try calling customer service to see what they are trying to do for coverage in PV even if I do live in Compton now.

That's pretty much what I have been saying earlier in the post. But if they can piggy back on existing towers or come up with a sharing agreement, than that would be fine. Like I said, I moved to Compton, so it's not that big a deal anymore.

Look, do I show up in the VZW forum to post some completely irrelevant thread about how in three years with Verizon I never once managed to finish a call from my bedroom, how my calls dropped continually, how the giant dead zones affected me (areas where any attempt to make a call would fail over to an AT&T prompt to enter a credit card number with no mention of what the charges would be!), how much I loved the **1.29/min** roaming rate, how my friends with VZW to this day can't make a call from my house unless I loan them my TMo phone, etc., ad nauseum? No, I do not, because I have some manners and know better than to go around sh!t disturbing for no reason.

Go away. If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing, or say whatever fanboy ...

Why do people talk as if the coverage is the same for everyone everywhere? If T-Mobile doesn't work for you, fine. Don't use them as a carrier. As for me, and, believe it or not, other people, the coverage is EXACTLY what I want and need. 🙄

I have to agree. I have T-Mo. I have been with them for almost 5 years now, and my coverage is fine. Actually, in my area, it works better than Verizon. And as far as I have seen using my dad's Verizon phone, the quality of sound with CDMA isn't any better than my "inferior" gsm phone. I think I will have to stay with T-Mobile and enjoy my "get more" minutes that I use and coverage is just great.

At least T-Mobile's coverage is more accurate and when customers get it, they know what to expect...as opposed to some other carriers who blanket the entire country and say "you get coverage everywhere except in the white areas"...As for call quality, I use Sprint and T-Mobile and in my area (major metropolis in SE), sprint doesnt work indoors, call quality is poor/echoes, and it has more dropped calls than T-Mobile. This goes against the expectations set by sprint's coverage map and sprint reps that come into my store. Anyways, good for TMo, they may only have 20 million customers, but thats double what it was in 2002, and its all based on service excellence, great plans, and honest coverage...not by the acquistion of another company (ie ...

Me too, and I live Rural... I've never dropped a call and have picked up clear signal even in places that the coverage map says I shouldn't have any.

I love my phone and there are some nice new ones out (and coming out.) And T-Mobile just won the overall Customer Satisfaction award from JD Powers for the 4th year running

Verizon isn't bad but not my first choice... CDMA lacks flexability...you have to use only phones the carrier approves of, moving phone book info is a pain and so many of their phones are bulky and clunky...

But every carrier has it's ups and downs.

I work for T-mobile and I am not going to lie we don't have the coverage that Verizon has and we probably never will. The reason being: about two years ago the government mandated that all carriers must become all digital. That is why sprint and cingular had to switch there networks over. But unlike all the other carriers verizon doesn't have to switch since their largest customer is the us government. So all the other carriers are at a disadvantage. Sprint and cingular have been around alot longer than T-Mobile so they can afford to put up more towers. T-mobile is still relatively new, and they are continuing to increase their coverage. In the last 3 years they have grown quite a bit. YOU WILL GET MORE WITH T-MOBILE. Just wait til...

T-Mobile has excellent customer service, but that's all T-Mobile has. T-Mobile USA is young yes, and maybe they will grow more, but for now, T-Mobile is in 4th place and the coverage is poor even in large T-Mobile areas. Cingular is probably the best company out there.

"coverage is poor in large T-Mobile areas" You are vague. Post facts not speculation. "Cingular is the Best company out there" ....... U Really have no idea what you are talking about. Where you live... Who you are... IS ONE PLACE, ONE PERSON. Your generalizing is so pointless. The world... and coverage do not revolve around YOU. AS I have said Countless times, and will continue to say is the majority of people base their coverage perspective on where they live, and thats fine... But that is not The Entire United States. Where I LIVE... Not U Live... Where I live T-Mobile's coverage is better than Cingulars, and Many in my CITY In central California Hate Cingulars service and coverage. I do not know One Person that has something good too say...

The best...how? Their customer is service is the 2nd lowest. The coverage isn't that great. At my house my T-Mobile phone works great. My husband's old Cingular phone was useless, so his job traded it out for a Verizon phone and it's been working great. At my brother's house, Cingular cells were searching for signal while T-Mobile and Verizon cells were working beautifully. If you're in an area where T-Mobile wor...

Don't get me wrong, T-Mobile is a nice company, it is just that their network is too small and too unreliable for me. (I am a T-Mobile user). One time I came across one of their phamplets which gave an excuse for thier small coverage: "we concentrate our network on where you will use your phone most." That was a blatent excuse and not a good enough one because I don't travel a lot and yet I can hardly use my phone in my area.

If T-Mobile does not upgrade their technology and add more towers in the next 5 years, they will be downgraded from a national to a regional carrier.

If T-Mobile needed a fast quick fix, they could become like Sprint: make most of their coverage area roaming. T-Mobile could keeps its current network and provide more coverage by roaming on more of cingular's network, just like Sprint's actual home coverage is small, but they roam on most of Verizon's network. Just a thought. :-)

That would work, but I don't think that DT wants to expand that way. I think they would rather build their own US network.
