My friend would like to take my number (i.e. the account) so I want to change the ownersehip of the account from me to him. My number is not under any contract now but I heard that, for t-mobile, change of ownership of the account will result in the automatic extesnion of the contract for another year. Is it true? Thanks.

A COR (Change of responsibility) does not extend your contract UNLESS the rate plan is changed to a promotional plan.
For example if you have the 39.99-600 whenever min, unl nts and unl wkends and he wanted the 45.99 1000 whenever min, unl nts and unl wk he would have to start a new contract.
Also when you do a COR you lose all tenure as a customer so if your phone is old you should possibly look into a handset upgrade before (but you won't get a discount unless a new contract is started)
