Suppose I am not under contract and would like to upgrade my cell phone. I know this will result in extension of contract if I want the phone at a reduced price. But my quesiton is: I am currently under family plan basic 400 (w/ unl nts/wknds) and will I be forced to upgrade to current lowest family 700 plan with the extension of the contract? Thanks.

Extending your contract does nothing to your plan.

yeah, T-Mobile will let you keep your plan, you will just be under contract for another year or so. If you still have questions, contact your local rep, or dial 611 from your T-Mobile. T-Mobile, Get More.
