You guys think T-Mobile will add more customers than Cingular?

I read some posts on the Cingular forum where apparently Cingular had some pretty disappointing and whack results. They added 867,000 customers last quarter, which fo' them apparently is not good.

I notice that T-Mobile, while not so great always on the coverage, is tempting to a lot of folks cus its very cheap. The marketing is good too, I like the commercials.

Given that, y'all think you're gonna take Cingular this quarter? That'd be kinda cool, I guess. Or maybe I just really like Catherine Zeta-Jones. 😎

If the 867K or 876K number is correct (I can't remember the exact number), T-Mobile stands a good chance of getting this one, but I think the number may be either about the same or less. I don't think it has much to do with either company being good or bad, I think it has to do with people watching their pennies right now.

I agree but I do blame some of Cingular's numbers on the company pinching pennies right now.

Maybe so, I don't know a lot of what Cingular has been doing to pinch pennies. Is it there a reason they are pinching pennies?

They have been pinching pennies to absorb the network integration and 3G upgrade costs. They also lost millions of dollars on credits given to hurricane victims. It all can be read about in Cingular's Q3 press release.

some of what he was mentioning.

"Despite a large portion of its network being damaged by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Cingular Wireless had a strong third quarter, partially due to the company's continued integration of AT&T's networks into its system."

"The revenue increases came as Cingular awarded $31 million in credit to customers in hurricane-affected areas."

Ah ok, now I finally know who's been takin' Cingular's lunch money. Its Verizon.

Think I may be startin' up with them. Plus, they won't be relyin on no whack Radio Shack startin next year.

Yea they got 867,000 subscribers for this quarter (3rd) (CINGULAR)

Tmobile got 972,000 net new customers added in Q2 2005 and they got 957,000 net new customers added in Q1 2005

This is what they got in quarter 3 2004 901,000 net new customers.

So just based on these numbers I think they can beat out cingular’s 867k.

Based on your numbers for the last two quarters, it will be close. If you notice the downward trend of those numbers, it isn't likely they went up. Maybe this quarter or the next, but not this 3rd Q looks like it will go down too in my opinion.

Yea, that is true, but it depends because I didn’t look what tmobile usa got for the 2nd and 1st quarters 2004 numbers so we will have to take those data and factor it in to see whether they got more or less. Till then it is hard to determine it by numbers, but I think based on the year ago same quarter I think they will be around that area and will beat cingular.
