(addtional information from the previous post about this situation that i did... the link is already on there.

"The group said 7,000 of the 32,000 job reductions would be staff permanently outsourced from Vivento, a personnel services agency set up by Deutsche Telekom to offload surplus staff, which is being divested. Another 6,000 new jobs would also be created during that time, resulting in a net loss of 19,000 jobs. ")

it's a possiblity..but why would they cut so many jobs? I think it's because it's an unecessary expense for them and those jobs are no longer needed! Which would still free up money for them to do other things within

Yea we will!

I just like to think of different situations of why they did this because if you remember in the past conversations and posts rumors were flying about an IPO of tmobile USA to fund the 3g network and spectrum or selling the company or something of that sort. Therefore, it is a bit interesting how after they announce they are keeping tmobile USA that they are laying people off.

Yeah! And they came out with a few new rate plans that are pretty amazing that should draw in some customers too! So it looks like they're trying to draw interest with the new plans and eliminate a little bit of their overhead costs to hopefully roll out some neat stuff within the next year or so.

yep.. i posted some of those new plans in the following url; https://www.phonescoop.com/carriers/forum.php ?fm=m&ff=5&fi=423205 ..

i like how that they are targeting the consumers that are on the lower of the economy scale as well as the prepaid market.. tons of spending power..

should be interesting what their plans will be with the upcoming auction of spectrum that they need to roll out a 3g network with..

any ideas? any opinions?

I think they'll keep the plans they have now till december at the earliest probably more like jan/feb of next year plus the changes they'll be making to their family plans on 11.21! Heavy advertising during the holidays and the layoff of those employees should give them enough money to be extremely aggressive come auction time! Look for them to totally dominate!

I don't think so because T-Mo was never really a data-centric carrier. You may look at this as a way to keep existing subscribers happy or less-likely to churn. I was gonna' add a Nazi joke, but that would've been in poor taste...

well, that is true that tmobile usa isnt very data centric, but soon they must especially when voice arpu will go down. why do you think many carriers are starting to do tv solutions, partning up with cable companies (sprint), and data services? to improve data arpu to try to offset the decline of voice arpu..

but if you were offered more services such as data at a little bit highier prices wouldnt you want to switch? i would.

smells like a buyout or merger in line................

I don't care what anyone thinks now, high promo plans, stories that they were up for sale and sudden not for sale stories.............you tell me.

i saw an ad that said if t-mobile wasn't sold they will stay they will stay the same t-mobile or be more competitive with more coverage and features and not just minutes. looks like they are stickin to the minutes to me.
