mobile to mobile package smart or not?

Here is my dilema. I am on the T-Mobile 1000 minutes a month plan with unlimited nights and weekends for 39.99 a month. I have been waiting for T-Mobile to offer the mobile to mobile package in any of their plans since I took the 1000 minute plan in April of 2003. and they just refuse to offer it unless you take a family plan. Duh, thats what mobile to mobile means. We know that but in order to broaden their services I feel they should offer that in their plans. My question is does anyone think its worth it for me to put it on my existing plan for an additional 6.99 a month or is it a waste? Many people I speak to are on T-Mobiles network and it might be a smart thing to do. The other side of me is saying dont give them anymore money then yo...

It really depends on your usage. Do you currently go over your minutes? If not, then it wouldn't be worthwhile. If yes, would the minutes you spend on the phone with other T-Mob users offset that? If they would it would certainly be worth the 7 bucks. Other providers do include mobile to mobile in plans, but it is priced in, which is why you can get 1000 minutes for 40 bucks a month to begin with. With T-Mob being the #4 provider, and only having 20 million subscribers, it makes sense for them to offer it as an optional add-on feature, since their in-network calling base is smaller and many of their customers don't need it. I wouldn't look for it to be included in their plans for a good while, until they're able to grow their customer base t...

exactly...

i have the same plan as you, the 39.99 1,000 anytime and unl n/w and i dont use all 1,000 day time minutes.

what i would do though, since tmobiles customer base is so small i would just pay an extra 10 a month and get the 1,500 anytime minutes with unl n/w cuz i am considering switching to that plan myself. even tho i dont need the extra 500 minutes, 10 dollars a month for an extra 500 minutes is a pretty good deal

for 900 minutes you'll pay $60 at both cingular and verizon

and for 1,350 minutes you'll pay $80 at both verizon and cingular

altho with cingular and verizon u get m2m and rollover with cingular

ur still getting a steal paying only 50 a month for 1500 minutes

ur paying 10 dollars less and getting an...

It depends on your usage. Are you continually watching to make sure you don't go over your minutes? If so...add the mob2mob.

Thanks guys for shedding light on this. I do not go over my 1000 mins a month but this month is going to be close. I am in the Hurricane Wilma affected area and have been talking with insurance companies and doing a lot of phone work this month. That is why I brought it up in the first place. I am just not prepared to give Tmobile more than they deserve. Small customer base or not. I just feel for some reason that it is something I should consider. True it is a steal 1500 mins for 49.99 but then add the taxes and your already at least at 60 a month and thats to high for me. So i guess its best to just stay with what I have at this time and watch that I dont go over. Thank you for everyone who replied.

How many T-Mobile customers do you know, and how many minutes total do you use when talking to the T-Mobile customers?

Then you should have gotten the $6.99 M2M plan. I was nearly going over my 1000 minutes, until I called customer care and they did a 3 month audit, and found out that I talked to T-Mobile's customers alot, and by me getting the M2M plan, I am saving like 500 minutes. Now, I rarely even touch 600 minutes a month. I like having extra minutes left over just in case I need to make calls. Just call them and ask them to do an audit to see how many M2M minutes you would save.

Look at it this way--if you go over, it only takes 17.45 minutes to add up to the 6.99 M2M feature. Since the feature can be backdated if necessary and added or deleted to match your usage, it's a pretty good idea to have it. Me, even though about 75% of my calls are to TMo customers I never go over my 1000 minutes so I don't bother with it...

remember also that if you need the mob2mob temporarily you can delete it later...that way you can save some overage for a particular month

also the holidays are a coming - do you think you'll be using the phone more due to this? If so you might want to think about adding it..

You all raise great points. Thanks so much for the insight! I do realize I can add and delete it at anytime and thats a good thing. Thanks again!
