I actually got the date from an insider, but the date is also located on T-Mobile news intranet site for employees of T-mobile. I was kinda hoping it would be out for Thanksgiving...but o well. At least T-mobile is finally getting a kick ass phone...

That kind of sucks, but I guess if I have been waiting this long, a couple of weeks can't hurt. 🙂

This will be potentially the first none moto phone I have purchased. I've heard all the moto sucks BS for years now, but for me it has been the opposite. I have been using motorola radios and phones for almost 20 years. I've always liked what they have given. But since I am with T-Mobile and the V3i is going to Cingular, I might have to settle on this. Seems nice enough, just wish someone would answer the questions I asked in my T809 post to know for sure if I want this phone.

From my thread titled "T809"

"While not normally enthused by Samsung phones, this looks like a phone I might consider. I only have two real concerns and was hoping some of you guys might be able to talk to them. First, there are still keys showing when the slider is closed, do you have to lock the keys to keep it from auto dialing? Part of the reason I buy flip phones is that I don't care to be bothered with locking the keys. And Second, having the screen open like that all the time, seems like it would get scratch real easy. How do you protect the screen? I normally just carry my phones in my pocket. Holsters and clips really aren't practical on motorcycles."

If you can help with those questions, that would be great....

I was afraid you would say pouch or belt clip. And it sounds like that is what your saying to protect the screen. That isn't really practical for me. Pouches and belt clips tend to fall off motorcycles at 70+ MPH. ☚ī¸

Tell them to move the party to Los Angeles. J/K. Wish it was here though. 🙂

well couldn't you just put your phone in the underseat storage compartment on your bike? that's what i always did and it seemed to work fine for me.

Any word on what the price might be for the phone? Whats the asking price? And what's everyone think it will actually cost if one renews a contract with tmobile?

I was thinking of switching to Cingular in order to get a free RAZR....but might hold on to see what sort of deal I can get on this phone.

I believe the cost is going to be $249.99 for a new customer.

You know, I kept thinking about moving to Cingular to save money on phones and get the newer, "cooler" phones, but then it dawned on me. Ya, I'll save money on phones and loose it all on paying for the plan. At least, if I have to pay an extra 50 to 100 dollars with T-Mobiles phones, I will gain that money back in like 4 to 6 months with my savings on my plan. In order to get the amount of minutes, text message availablility, and T-Zones access, I would have to pay somewhere between 20 to 40 dollars a month more. I think I am better off just sucking up the extra cash on equipment and save on the long term plan costs. 😁

And I've heard all the arguments about coverage and it's BS. I get great coverage everwhere I go except South Caro...

if you want to protect the screen just buy little clear plasic covers from ebay...or you can just leave the one it comes with on....the screen wont get scratched and its not in a case so it still looks good
