Yeah. First you have two options as to what you can do in this situation. First is to do a transfer of responsibilty of your phone number to your wife and then convert those two lines into a family plan! Second, you could add yourself as an authorized user to your wife's account (she would have to be the one calling in to add you) and then do what's called a number transfer REQUEST! ( the request part being very important) In this instance tho, you would need to already have a line set up on her family plan that you want your number transfered to. The reason i would suggest this is b/c if your contract is up on your other line and if you do the first option before upgrading your phone, then you lose your eligibility until your new contract i...

Wow, at Vzw we call the above action a churn and it is againest corporate policy. But I guess T-mo doesn't have those standards.

I guess that was the typical response I expected. Of course there was really no need for the attitude. My guess is that you work for The Mobile Solution as they are experts in shady business pratices.

Actually I didn't have an attitude, you just took it that way. And no i don't work for TMS. It wouldn't matter where i worked anyways because i would need to call into tmobile cc to do that! why all the hatred towards tmobile??

No hatred I believe T-Mo has alot of potential and will someday have the coverage as well as CS. I just couldn't imagine T-Mo allowing you to deactivate an acct and open the same # in the wife's name this is almost the very definition of Churn! Vzw would shoot up red flags immediately and the rep. would not get paid as well as possible disciplinary action

But T-Mo does have a way of doing it that isn't sneaky and underhanded, and, as someone else said, it's called a change of responsibility. You probably won't lose your upgrade options, b/c CC can check the old acct to verify your upgrade status, and get their sup to approve it. At least, that's how it was when I worked there. I have heard that the upgrade process has changed since then, but I doubt that it has changed to screw the cust out of the...

NO YOU CANNOT you cannot do intracompany ports. What you would need to do is called a change of responsibility.
