As far as I know, the N90 is only available as an unlocked model at CompUSA (that's where I saw it advertised in my paper), which means it will work on any network. I did notice a small T-Mobile logo, and rebates for new activation. However, I think this is exclusive through CompUSA to the best of my knowledge (ie, T-Mobile does not carry the phone per se in store, but CompUSA does and sells it as a "T-Mobile" phone and activates it for you). Hope this helps!

I just picked up my N90 @ Ritz Camera here in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. I wound up switching from Cingular to T-Mobile to use the phone because it does NOT work with Cingular. I originally bought one that was allegedly "unlocked" @ CompUsa for $599.00. Kept getting errors so finally I called tech support and spoke with T-Mobile. ALL U.S. N90's are T-Mobile locked and there is no way to hack into it like the older Nokia because it is a next-gen Series 60 3G phone. So I bailed on Cingular, returned my $599 N90, rolled down to Ritz and ported my number and wound up getting the phone...get this... for $299 plus tax.

So, I hope this helps clarify some issues w/ this phone. Also, I have the Internet up and running w/ EDGE speeds using ...

Yeah guys, I bailed on Cingy and came over. The reception is actually better than what I had w/ Cingular (and Verizon before that). Also, the quality of the voice is warmer and less "tiny" than Verizon and has no echo like Cingy.

EDGE works great, I wish I could somehow use or test the UMTS functions of the phone, I will try it when I am in Europe in March.

BTW the dudes @ T-Mobile tech support (inside line that employees call) told me that they expect to have 3G out in 6 - 12 months, no later than December of this year.
