Beginning January 20, T-Mobile will offer pre-registration for two great new data devices scheduled to launch in mid-February, the MDA Handheld and the SDA Smartphone.

Existing and potential customers who sign up at www.t-mobile.com/bethefirst will receive an automatic e-mail telling them when the devices are available for purchase. Existing customers will be able to click through to My-T-Mobile to see if they are eligible for an upgrade; potential customers can click through to the T-Mobile.com purchase path or a retail store locator.

Calls about these devices will increase due to a marketing promotion at the Sundance Film Festival, which runs January 20 to 29 in Park City, Utah. T-Mobile gave select directors and producers a device containing the trailer for their film, and will pass out free devices to actors and other celebrities at the company’s hospitality room. We expect the story to be picked up by a number of media outlets, as well as on popular Web sites like Engadget.com and Howard Forums.
