Just FYI if you are wanting one, I'm sure you can find an unlocked one on Ebay or from a dealer somewhere or something, and it wouldn't carry any contract and would probably be cheaper. Just my 2 cents.

All they have to do is call it something else like all these carriers are doing with the pink razr.... or make it black with silver trimmings or something... 😳

Sorry buddy...ain't gonna happen. When I last talked with the Moto rep for TMobile for the central region he says that they were looking into a navy blue RAZR. As far as the V3i isn't it a CDMA phone? Wouldn't work with T-Mobile if that is the case.

here's the skinny......(i know....what is this, the 20's? Oh, well)

The color black, anodized into the casing of the razr, is a combination liscenced exclusively to cingular.

The color magenta, yada yada yada, is exclusive to tmobile.

The color pink(pastel), is exclusive to cingular for the v3, and verizon for the v3c.

The v3i is also colloquially known as the razr 2. It is the update to the v3. The CDMA version is the v3c. I know, it's way too confusing for something this stupid and trivial, but oh well.......that's the industry we work in.

Carriers get exclusives for a period. cingular had the exclusive on the silver Razr V3 when it came out. Then when T-Mobile got it cingular had the exclusive on the black Razr. I believe (though don't recall which) T-Mobile has the exclusive on the magenta Razr and cingular has the exclusive on the pink Razr. I'm not sure who has the exclusive on the blue Razr. It's all what the carrier makes out on dealing with the manufacturer. Of course it wouldn't be quite so exclusive if they had changeable covers like most Nokia models (Nokia actually pioneered the concept of changeable covers and of co...

Well, the so called "cheap" covers made Nokia and a lot of aftermarket companies oodles of money. The only really "cheap" covers I've seen are some of the aftermarket covers. But then again, you already said that you're prejudiced against Nokia anyway. I guess that's no different than myself. I can't stand the Motorola interface and am selling both of my V3 Razrs for that reason. Just having a cool design is not enough. Lucky for all of us that there are many different manufacturers so we can get what we thinks works for each of us.

Yea.. the way I see it... when it comes to design ... Motorola takes the prize in this category... when it comes to ease of use and user-friendliness...I gotta give it to Nokia.. I'm not completely prejudice towards Nokia... I just prefer Motorola for its more sophisticated look...

Well, that's my problem with Motorola that they value style over substance. If I'm frustrated by the non-ease of doing what I need to do I'll choose something that's not quite so cutting-edge in design over something that actually works easily. There's not any question for me that the design of the Motorola V3 Razr is hot. The key mat is just plain cool as well as the thinness factor. I just can't get around the...
