Razr Text Messaging Problem

I have a Razr Silver V3 and when I get text messages from everyone the popup comes up saying you have a new message from Joe.. But when my girlfriend writes me one, it automatically comes as read and does not tell me I have a new text message. any way to fix this?

Are you sure you're not pushing a button before you actually notice the message? I'm not too sure i've never heard of that problem. And i've never had it with my RAZR.
