They will have it by year 2099. Maybe by 2098 at the earliest....hahhahahah j/k!!! It all depends on the spectrum auction this summmer. T-Mobile needs to get a hold of 3G spectrum first...so hold tight, it will happen soon.

Why is this streaming video thing so big? How often can you actually watch T.V on your phone? I mean i could use it right about now but would that really be a deciding factor for someone who's shopping around?

I personally think there are a couple of reasons the whole streaming media is a big thing right now.

First, it's new technology here that will lead to future technologies that will be more useful than just a toy. For example Hutchinson's Three service - http://www.three.com - is offering Video Calling on it's network and has been for a couple of years. Great stuff.
The technology is a gateway for allowing true broadband speeds over the cell network.

And here's the more important reason to the average person out there right now.
It's a new toy!
People love new toys and being able to play music and watch TV/videos on your cell phone is a really big new toy. Not a horrible thing for when you're bored or traveling.

spectrum is the key word, and we need about ten billion dollar worth of spectrum, equipment and enough customers that want the service, but by then we will have, unlimited mobile to mobile to the Deutsche land using the wifi so we could care less about 3G.

no just kidding, haha maybe for customers like me who dont like spending too much money.
