Stolen phone

Is there any site or any place where I can get a GSM serial number disabled? My phone was stolen last month. Being as ditzy as I am, I didn't know if it was misplaced, so I put off suspending my phone for a couple of days to see if I could find it. I kept checking the web for any min usage, and there was none. Turns out it was stolen, and the day before I got it suspended, the theif decided that stealing MY phone that *I* paid for wasn't enough, he had to purchase a game and 4 ringtones, totalling $11.45. I know, it could have been worse, but I am still pissed. I find it hard to believe that T-Mobile can't disable a phone, since the tower picks up the serial number of the phone when you make a call, but I know they don't as of yet. I ...

I would go into a store and demand they shut it off. I'm sure your phone is gsm enabled as most are now a days. I am unsure if they can trace but I would most certainly think they could shut it off. Good luck

If you report your phone stolen they can disable service, but they cannot and will not disable "blacklist" an IMEI. No US carrier has a blacklist as they do in Europe.

Yup. All you have to do is call in to customer service and get a lost/stolen suspend put on. It disables the person from using your number. Unfortunatly you're screwed on the phone. Just remember, if you're still in contract, unsuspend the phone within 30 days or it will cancel your line completely.

When your phone gets used on T-mobile again they can trace it, but you can’t prosecute, fact of the matter the crime is lees then misdemeanor and there was no physical harm done to you.

The question about disabling the imei has already been addressed so....aas far as voice forms, we filed them all day every day at both customer requests and for ourselvs. So obviously it is done but if we do it for you or not is dependent on if you were a demanding b**ch or just a concerned consumer. I personally don't do anything for rude customers cause, well, I don't have to. I'm the one in total control of the call and what does and doesn't get done. Like the saying goes you get more bees with honey. I try not to go off on a tangent about rude customers cause most are not rude but I hope you can apprieciate the honesty in my answer.

I did.... But reporting the phone stolen does nothing but suspend my account until I call in to reinstate my account.

The phone was the Nokia 6101. I originally paid about $70, accidentally dumped it into the toilet and had to pay full price for a new one. I'm the kind of person who finds it really hard to believe that people have so little conscience that they can take something that does not belong to them. I was mad, and then the fact that they purchased ringtones and a game only further pissed me off. I want to get some type of revenge, but feel so helpless! I'm intrigued that someone mentioned they have an IMEI blacklist in Europe,...
