😲

Motorola has filed for a patent on a new type of silent alert for mobile devices. Noting that vibrating alert is not truly silent, Motorola has proposed a system that uses mild electrical stimulation instead of a vibrating motor. The user wears a device that can deliver a mild electric charge next to the skin.

this almost sounds like a joke but it is very serious.... i wonder if anyone with pacemakers will get his..... or a little kid or use it for "stinulation" this is crazy, ignorant at best

It is pretty insane, but for some people I'm sure it's worth it. Personally I can't see myself or anyone else I know getting it.

But I can see it. People walking around with nicotine-style patches on their arms (or wherever) just to let them know their phone is ringing. Strange stuff.
While they're at it, why not just develop the bluetooth ear implant so all you have to do is pull your earlobe and start talking.
