First off, everyone has been very helpful thus far in suggesting phones. I appreciate it. I'm under a time crunch now, as I have to be fully out of my current carrier and into T-mobile by the 10th.

I've read good reviews about the Sony E. w810, but have no clue what the cost on it would be or where to buy it unlocked and how to set it up for T-mo. Any ideas?

Also, the Samsung t609 seems great, when it does come out. If you're already into a contract with T-mo, can you "trade up" to the t609 at the end of May when it's here?

If you read, you know that I hate Motorola's menu system and the mass of key input's it takes to reach things like text messaging before you can actually begin to write one, but the v360 does have the mini-usb a...

yeah you can upgrade to anyone one of those phones with activations. some stores may allow you to trade up my homegirl did from a 6010 to a pink razr and didnt pay that much for it from what she say.... but its not a sure thing

as far as the 8801 goes

What it is:

Domestic Tri-band – 850/1800/1900
Digital Camera
Color Display screen
Picture Caller ID
Video Camera
Speakerphone
Bluetooth

the v360 is a good phone... i do like samsung menus but i always send a text from the v360 with ease....

if the w810 takes a sim you would have to have a over the air configuration done...

Ha-ha let me make a gesture if you can just continue your plan with your current provider for another month then you can wait to test out the nokia 8801 and the 6103 at the end of may. that way you can be in your 14 day trial period.

I'd love to wait it out and give the others a try, but in a few days, I will be locked into a U.S. Cellular-hell contract; so I need to jump ship in a hurry. Do you happen to know if the v360's AIM messenger has the iTAP on it? I know the standard text messaging does, but does it work on the AIM? The Motorola v710 I have now has an AIM version that is ONLY multi-tap. Someone said on here that it does have iTAP in the AIM messenger, but I assure that it does not and instant messaging without it is a nightmare. Just getting to standard text messaging to finally press the send button is such a chore. I counted tonight and it is a total of 8 key presses on the v710 just to even start keying in your message. EIGHT key presses just to begin! That'...

It might be too late, but I thought I'd give you some info anyway 🙂

If you're in a time crunch, I wouldn't bother trying to find the Sony Ericsson...

Obviously you need a phone, and you need it now. Being that most of the phones that were suggested havent actually come out yet, I would recommend the Samsung T509. It has bluetooth, camera w/ video capture, speakerphone, IM, GPRS access, etc... very thin/sleek phone.. I just got one today and I love it.

As far as the V360 goes... Its a Motorola. Enough said. Get the Samsung.

Not that I'm biased or anything 🙂
