I am thinking of getting a prepaid phone. I am on a family pla with my girlfriend, and I want to use my current line to get a wireless card through tmobile for my laptop. Would it be cheaper to go for a prepaid service, or to just add a line to our family plan. I do a lot of instant messaging on my phone, but don't use alot of minutes.

correction: prepaid service with us is not a $1 a day unless you have a sidekick 2 (which gives you unlimited sms messages, email, web browser, IM but charges 1.00 a day no matter if you use it or not and you'd have the option to turn that feature off to use the voice 'plan' which you'd be at .15/MIN.)

As far as rates go it all depends on what refill that you add. You get to the gold rewards which gives you up to %15 a min and extends the experation date for one year when you spend $100.00+ in refills.
