Leaving Verizon for Tmobile. how's the service in LA ?

Well. I've been with VZW for 5 years, currently have 4 lines. I have 3 coming off this year. I was looking into sprint, but they seem to be unable to deliver on thier promises. I spent 2 weeks and lots of frustration with a SERO account, great plan, but the CSR's just cant seem to get anything into the computer to take as far as modifications. They promise you this and then nada.
Anyway. I asked VZW if they valued my business, they said yes, I said ok please include 500 free text messages in my account and i'll re sign my contract. They said, sorry we don't offer freebies, ok then, i'm tired of paying top dollar for crap phones and a good signal.
Now i'm wondering how the tmobile service In LA is . . Appreciate your feedback. ....

The reception in Los Angeles area is very good.
But you may still find Verizon still have better reception though.
But T-mobile is getting better though since they also uses Cingular towers too.

crap phones? have you seen the new lineup of vzw handsets? its improved 10x over. check out the 700w/700p. the Q, the LG vx8300(best phone ever to hit a vzw shelf imo) and the samsung a930 (its decent not great tho)
what are you looking for in a phone? we do value your business but we are not able to give you fre txt messages. we can probably accomodate you with some free minutes such as 100 min for 6 months or something, but we dont have the ability to give msg's away.

its an ok midrange phone. nothing really spectacular but not "crap" either.

There is really no big difference between the a930 and the LG 8300 besides:
1. the exterior color display and
2. the ability to play mp3s??
The a930 has microSD/transflash,music speakers, and 1.3mp camera w/flash

8300 also has sterio bluetooth for mp3 playback thru bt. and the new flash based ui. it has better speakerphone better outter display it has a much more durable and nice feel to it plus it gets better reception.
same price for both it is a no brainer imo.

Well have you seen TMo's phone selection. It is not very hot either. VZ's selection on handsets is much better than TMo's. The LG line 4 VZ sinks TMo's whole lineup. But the upside with TMo is the capability of buying unlocked triband phones from Europe/Asia.

Ok well here's the story. I started with the motorcrapola E815. Which I will give credit to having the most outstanding reception of any phone I've ever used. Unfortunately After going through 5 of them, the last refurb they gave, crapped out and wouldnt even turn on after 2 calls. they gave me the samsung 950, which go no signal, they were nice enough to replace it with the lg vx 8100, which seems like a nice phone, again very poor signal, drops alot of calls and has no service in half of Culver City. so This leaves me looking for something else. thats the ugly story. Verizon has tried, I will give them that I just think the hand sets they have are low quality. You can tell by how many people are returning them in the cust serv, line daily....

WELL ITS VERY HARD TO CHOOSE. THERE BOTH GREAT PHONES, BUT I WOULD GO WITH THE MDA BECAUSE YOU CAN DO ALL THE EMAIL YOU NEED. GETS GREAT SIGNAL AND IT A WINDOWN BASE PHONE. BUT ALSO LOVE THE BLACKBERRY MY BESTFREIND HAS IT. 😉
