Holy cow it worked!
I have downloaded Opera Mini web browser on my phone and it has never worked. I have tried so many things, and it still will not work! I've even downloaded opera mini in every single demo phone in my store, and it would NEVER work!!!!
Then finally, on the stupid Motorola v195, it actually worked! What the heck!?!?!! How? How do I get it to work on other phones? Does anyone know?
With Opera Mini, you can browse way more website, even ones that are java enabled, just like a sda.

yes. but with t-mo it can be a tad harder to get the opera mini to work correctly. im better hands on than explaining online.

Okay, I went to Google on my Samsung E105 in tzones, chose to download opera mini, a lovely pic of my phone and a globe (which I'd never seen before) appeared for a while, then it asked me if I wanted to go back to WAP, not knowing any different I said yes. It kicked me back to the tzones page and I can't for the life of me figure out how it's supposed to work from here. I've tried going to a non-WAP URL from the funbox, but no luck. What am I doing wrong here? 😕

Opera mini is a java program the has to have access to the network. Samsung and nokia T-mobile phones (i.e. 6101, 6103, t509, t809, t609 etc) are set so that java programs can not access the network, so opera mini does not work. I'm not sure if t-mobile orders them this way or not so that people can't have full web browsing for 6.99 a month. If they do, then why don't the motorolas block this feature? Euro nokia and samsung phones do not block this feature, so if you have an unlocked phone from overseas, it will work.

Not quite true, I downloaded Opera Mini on a Nokia 3220 and it worked just fine.

The 3220 is not sold from t-mobile anymore, that is why I didn't mention it. Also, for my curiosity, is your 3220 a t-mobile branded one or an unlocked one?

I wish there was a way to allow all cell phones to give network access to certain applications. I see this option available on the Samsung T609 and T809, but it's greyed out for some reason.

Ok. I hadn't tried it on the 3220 cus we don't have anymore, but thats what I was saying about the samsungs and the other nokias. The feature is blocked and I was wondering why. Is t-mobile ordering them like this or is samsung and nokia just doing it. If t-mobile orders them like this, then why don't they with the motorolas because none of the motorolas are blocked.

ok you can get step by step instructions for your device by logging into mini opera site...I just did it for my razr working fine. hope this helps. 🙄

I tried that a lot, and it still never works, instead I just end up losing access to T-Zones, so I have to call customer care to re-send that network access message again, and then I can use T-Zones again. Translation: this is wiggidy wack.

yeah mine always says no data connection. I have full T-Zones, and still nothing!
