Why is the 8801 so expensive?
Does anyone know why the 8801 is so outrageously priced ($500) am I missing something here? I can get a 6103 that does everything and more for $50 bucks. Any insight would be much appreciated.

Because it's made out of TITANIUM, that's why it's $500. So if you ever find yourself getting shot at, you can duck-tape it to your chest and it will act as a bullet-proof vest.

actually it is stainless steel not titanium, and it has reinforced glass, as to why anyone would want to spend that kind of $ on a phone i am clueless. although i have two sold when they get to my store, higher commissions i am not complaining.

It is a lot of money. However after opening up the battery back and looking inside it's plain to see that the whole phone is made of high class materials. From battery contacts, to talk quality to feel and form is is a beauty. Why does a Jag cost more than a Buick, or a Rolax more than a Casio. Is it that much better than all the other phones feature for feature, probably no. A Buick will get you where you want to go as well as a Rolls. But when you pick up one of these phones you will know instantly that it's in a different league. Is it worth all that extra money depends on who wants what?

People get what appeals to them whether it's technically superior or not. Some people think Vertu is great too. If you've got more money than you know what do with you spend it on what you wish. The 8890 when it came out five years ago was also a lot of money too.
