Coming back

So i think i am coming back to tmobile from cingular.

However, i have a question.

First, how is the phone price affected between a 1 year and 2 year? And does Tmobile still do 1 year?

Second, if i sign up on the 1500 anytime minute promotional plan for 39.99, and in 6 months decide i need more minutes or night and weekend, can i transfer to a non promotional plan without extending my contract? Do they allow changing of plans without contract extentions?

Hi Homeslice:

T-Mobile will do 1 year but only over the phone.

1 year contract = higher phone price.

And if you want to switch to a non-promotional plan during your contract it WILL NOT extend your contract. Only switching to a promotional plan will extend your contract. I hope this helps.

ok so if i sign up on the new 1500 minute plan for 39.99, and lets say in 6 months i say, well i need nights and weekends and i go to the 600 minute plan or 1000 minute plan for 49.99 it will not require an extension?

But if i switch to another promotional plan it will require a 1 year?

How much difference are there in the phone prices, i used to get my phones from amazon.com but it looks like they only do 2 years now.

i have cingular and i get 450 anytime for 39.99 minus my 10.00 discount, but their next plan up is 20.00 more so its cheaper to do tmobile, since i use about 950 minutes total.

Be careful with those online websites and rebates they offer, the deal might not be as sweet as you think. Plus the problems you could run into doing it online might not be worth the price you get it for.

I ordered my phone with Customer service and I received the same price for the phone as a 2yr contract in the stores with only a one year contract. Try giving them a call. T-Mobile is still running their 1500 for $39.99, I thought that ended in February??????? 🙄

T-Mobile does do one-year contracts in their corporate stores or over the phone. I would suggest going to one of their corporate stores with all your questions. As for switching your plan, the 49.99 a month that gives 1000 minutes and N&W would require a one year contract extention. I would suggest just activating with a two-year contract so say in six months if you want to switch your rate plan, it wont matter if you have to extend your contract because you have already committed for the two years. Makes more sense cause then you get the phone for cheaper and if you know you are going to switch your rate plan or are pretty sure you would switch it down the line.

i doubt id have to switch, and letstalk.com lets u do 1 year contracts, the 6103 is free with a 1 year and u get a free bluetooth set. Why would i have to extend my contract to get the 49.99 plan, thats a promotional plan?

The 29.99 plan doesnt not require a contract extention but pretty much every other one does. Like I said go to nearest t-mobile corporate store. They will have straight answers for you. You dont have to buy the phone their just ask them . You could even call if you are too lazy.

lol....i just figured id get some answers here. What about the 39.99 600 mins, is that a promotional plan? I really dont like 2 year contracts. I have never signed one. Cingular i think went to all 2 year contracts.

I dont think the 39.99 600 minute plan is a promotional plan, but I still think the you have to extend your contract when you switch to it. Im not really sure. about 80 20. I know two-year contracts are scary but t-moblie is a good company and they are only going to get better.

yeah....i just always feel funny about doing it. I paid full price for a cingular phone on ebay to avoid a new contract. Now they went to only 2 year i was told so there goes me ever getting a new phone with them. Now they want me to pay 20.00 more a month for the next plan of minutes. Thats rediculous.

The 1500 minute plan at tmobile seems like the best out there right now. No night and weekends but it has 1500 minutes. I use about 950 right now including nights and weekends, daytime, and mobile to mobile on cingular.

You can switch plans at Cingular any time you want. You just lose your roll-over minutes. Long ago, you could get the 2000 minute plan for a month, use 500 minutes and switch back to a 500 minute plan the next month, earning 1500 roll-over. I think Cingular caught on!!

the 600 min plan w/ nights and weekends requires a one year contract... basically any plan with unlimited nights and weekends or any promotional plan requires a contract extension.

If you decide that you would like to add the nights and weekends you can just go ahead and add them as part of the optional features. this way you wont have to extend your contract but you get N&W free, you'll just have to pay the add-on charge every month.

Did you input yout zip code? You have to do that first, because the first time I looked, It only showed what you said... but then I cleared my "cookies" on Internet explorer, close Internet explorer, and then opened it again, went to that page , and then it asked me to input my zipcode. Once my zipcode was in there, then it pulled up the promo ,,,

You should go online and look at the rate plans that are offered. It'll show all the ones offered in your area, not just the ones some rep will tell you over the phone.
