The main reason I might switch is just to get the Nokia 8801 which will be insured through T-Mobile.
I have been a Cingular customer for 3 years now, and have no complaints. I live in the DC area but spend most of my minutes at work in Gaitersburg, MD. How is the coverage in this area?
- Why should I switch? (Besides customer service)
- What are the benefits?
- Any other information I should know about?
Thanks for your help!

I just switched from Cingular and I have to say I love everything about T-Mobile. I have the same exact coverage , in some areas its better and I have the Moto Pebl phone and it is so crystal clear. I left Cingular mainly because it took me 8 months to get my money back on a phone that I returned in Nov 05. I would advise anyone to use T-Mobile. 😉

i like cingular too, no problems in service. But the minutes for the price is my problem. They want me to pay 20.00 more a month for minutes instead of the typical 10.00.
I could go to tmobile for more minutes for each of the price ranges.
Only bad thing is coverage, although it looks good here, use the personal coverage check, and the fact that the plan i want has no nights and weekends.

I'm considering switching as well; I love the coverage/service but T-Mob has SO much better voice/data combo plans and I'm thinking of getting a blackberry.
I live in the Bay Area and travel a lot all over the country. Any feedback on coverage (anywhere), call quality and customer service? Any reason I *shouldn't* switch?

...the coverage...
If you're a nationwide traveller you might want to consider VZW.

well if you travel to big city and some what small area then its great. but if you travel to places where the population is about 200 then go with verizon. i love both verizon and tmobile.

Well, if minutes are what you are looking for, then you cannot beat TMo but their coverage is lacking (in my area) but they do offer more for the money. If you have many friends and family with Cingy, you should stay and take advantage of the mobile-to-mobile, but if not try them out and see how they work. They might save you a couple of dimes and nickels 😁
