If you really want to be sure you get service, a sales rep will do a coverage check for your area. They'll even print it out for you along with your receipt. I've been with T-Mobile for over a year after splitting with Verizon Wireless. I live in the Midwest also and my service is great. And customer service is way better than Verizon's.

Today I had 2 Moto RAZRS in my hand when traveling across PA. 1 was from Cingular and one was from T-Mobile.
Cingular had a full signal almost the entire drive, while T-Mobile wasn't nearly full the majority of the time, and often went completely out of service.
I am currently a Cingular Subscriber who was considering switching to T-Mobile at the end of the month, but have now decided not to do so because of this. I think T-Mobile would be good if you don't travel and live in an area that is fully covered.
You definitely can't beat the amount of minutes tmo offers for the price. I live in a big city and often travel for work, so t-mobile is not for me.
Hope that helps ....

That's a good point also. However, I've heard from other people who are with Cingular say that in some areas no matter where they at, some of their calls drop without notice. Of course, every wireless carrier has their glitches.

Please read my post above. You can't go wrong with Cingular. STAY AWAY FROM T-MOBILE!

Like I said before, every carrier has its flaws. Not one carrier is the best carrier. I used be a Verizon customer and the reason I left is because they gave me grief over the selection of phones you could get on prepaid but you may or may not be able to download anything from Get It Now. That's why I left. T-Mobile and Cingular you can buy any phone on prepaid and still have all of postpaid, and I'm talking about internet and downloading stuff.
