This is a copy of an email from tmobile. I emailed to ask why the plan is only available in CA because i want it. This was their response from T-Mobile.
I understand from your e-mail that you would like to know why is it that there is a 39.99 1000 minute plan with unlimited nights and weekends available in San Fransisco CA, and not for me in New York?
I certainly appreciate the importance of your concern and I am happy to go over your account with you to see how I can help.
I have gone to our website and I do see the 1000 minute rate plan with unlimited nights and weekends for $39.99 but there is no stipulation as to where it is available. According to my research it is a promotional rate plan available nationwide. How do you know...

You can tell them we know it isn't in NYC, cause when we go to tmobile.com and put our zip code, it doesn't show the $39.99 plan with Unlimited Night and weekends.

but she is telling me it is available and others tell me it is not!

Its not. I called customer care last night, and he said this promo is only available on the west coast, which is in the california, and arizona markets. He said they do that to see how well it will sell, then if it is good they will try to offer it in other markets. This is like how they did with the 1500 minutes only plan, and the same but with Unlimited Nights and Weekends plan in Florida. It did so well, that they made it nationwide about a month after.
...
so this 1500 with no nights and weekends was first offered there too?
So its safe to wait to come back?
...
No. The 1500 minutes with N/W, and the version with out N/W was tested in Florida. Then it was nationwide. I hope it comes back. The rep said if its successful, it "might" come out nationwide. But I wouldn't hold him to that, since T-Mobile has to decide where it will launch.

well if its not i might just pay 7.00 more a month at cingular for extended nights and use up all my rollover. I just dont feel comfortable not having nights and weekends, i hate having to worry about minutes.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for that plan to go nationwide. This isn't the first time it's been offered in california. I remember them having the 1000 min free night and weekend about 4 years ago, and its been off and on since then. Its a promotional plan out there, but it's not a test market. It has to do with the competition in the area. Now, you can still get 1000 min free night and weekend for 49.99 a month. Still a great plan. It'd be dumb to go to Cingular and pay 47.00 for 450 min and free nights and weekends to get 2 extra hours.

i pay 39.99 minus 10.00 because i get 18% off every month. Thats the sticking point between switching.
Id be paying 39.99 + 7.00 + 4.99 = 51.98 + 10.00 in taxes = 61.98 MINUs 11.15 (18%)= 50.83
