Gsm is good, but not great. Neither is CDMA for that matter. The bottom line is that Verizon has done a better job of pounding it into consumers heads that their network is the best. I apologize that the marketing teams at other carriers are unable to do this. Tmobile's marketing strategy concerns get more minutes, features, dropped calls, and refurbed phones. Cingular fits you bets moreso because of all the plans and features. But only one carrier delivers where it matter most, completing and holding onto a call more often than not.

VZW has already started offering more minutes with the IN Network calling, which was a huge success. I"m sure there is something else up their sleeve.

I think the consensus in some of these forums is that Verizon is pompous and arrogant and resting on its laurels (read: JD powers). The bottom line is that only 2 of the above are true. VZW wants to not only continue to command the lead in the wireless industry, but be known as a great company amongst all industries for products and services. And I assure you that great incentives are in place to reward those who diligently work to keep VZW number one. And I imagine that is where they will stay.
