I am new here, so sorry if this is a dumb question. I have a Nokia 6101 prepaid phone. Can I purchase a t-mobile phone for an upgrade, other than what T-mobile lists for their prepaid service? For instance, if I bought an unlocked t-mobile phone and put my SIM card in it, would that work? Or does it specifically have to be one of the prepaid models?

Thanks for any info.

Any GSM phone will work, just as long as it is unlocked.

I bought an AT&T Wireless Nokia 6200IM from Ebay for my T-Mobile To-Go account and it works perfectly. I unlocked it myself and went to Nokia.com to order the T-Zones and Picture Messaging settings (for free). It works so well. And I love the Nokia 6200!

You can use *any* compatible phone as long as it supports at *least* GSM 1900. If it supports 850 that is even better since there is some 850 roaming or there will be shortly. It can be a phone that was on the T-Mobile/VoiceStream network or unlocked.
