If I switch to a family plan with the rents before my contract is up, is there an ETF?

My cotnract reaches the 11-month upgrade point on November 30. My Dad is thinking of switching to T-Mo for his business use and we would just all go on a family plan. If we did this while I am home for Thanksgiving (and thus before my contract is up) would I incur an ETF?

If you are on T-Mobile and just switching your plan you do not incur an ETF. The only time you will ever incur an ETF is if you CANCEL your T-Mobile service completely or porting your number to another service provider (thus canceling your T-mobile service).

It is like this with every other wireless service provider. You may change your plan at anytime, however you may have to renew your contract for 1 or 2 more years.

No, you are not canceling service just changing rate plans. Although, you will probably have to renew your contract for a year for changing plans.
