MyFavs, and an unlocked phone.
Simple question, can it be done? I know that MyFavs uses some T-Mobile software on the phone the will let you mix, and match what phone numbers you want for my MyFavs, but can you do this online so you can use an unlocked phone?
I have a 6682 from Cingular that I plan to get unlocked soon, and would like to use it on T-Mobile. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You have to have, or purchase, a myFaves phone to activate a myFaves rateplan. Once you have activated with the myFaves phone and used it once, you can switch over to the unlocked one.
...
Why is that? That seems odd that you need to use a MyFavs phone once.

you don't HAVE to. But if you don't:
a) if you get a new phone with the plan, you have to use it at least once to get any mail-in rebates
b) if you don't use a myFaves phone at least once on a myFaves plan, the rep who sold it to you will not get any commission for the sale and it will not even count as an actvation for them.
...
Don't you have to dial that person from the myFaves program and not from the phone itself?

My mom has the myfaves setup on her plan and still uses her sony ericsson w300 (not even sold by tmobile). The calls come up as myfaves on the online billing and are not charged as normal calls.
...
No. As long as the number you call is in your myFaves it doesn't matter.
