T-Mobile has only been officially T-Mobile since September of 2002. The year prior they were VoiceStream "powered by" T-Mobile. Before thatt it was just VoiceStream.

need to tell people if they are signing a 2 yr contract. Don't just say "here you go sign your newborn." you know who you are too! That happened to my grandpa his phone had stopped working and he got a free phone and I let him know he didnt get that w/out signing another contract I looked at the paper work and sure enough. ๐ฟ He's okay though because he's been w/ TM for 9 yrs (i dont know why ๐ ) anyways..
People need to take some responsibility for themselves. You are just plain silly if you sign *anything* without looking at what you're signing. If you get stuck with something after signing it the only fault is yours for not paying attention to what you are signing....

Something like that at least .
I mean that is my grandpa and anyways he doesnt give a crap I do I deal with some of those customers and it makes TM look bad.
Do you work for TM? ๐คจ

you can take your frustrations out on me if you will like. You only made yourself look bad. Yes people should take responsibility for themselves but YOU- YOUR JOB shouldn't you at least let them know "Hey were extending your contract if you accept this free phone"

I'm really tired of the "poor me" that I get when people need to take responsibility for themselves and not *blame* a company which has not made any secret of their requirements. If you cannot abide by the requirements of your agreement ...

On the other hand, while I wouldn't blame the company for it, it is only right to tell people about details like that. For example if someone wanted to upgrade I wouldn't just say "Sure, I can give you a free phone. Sign here." I would say "I can give you a free phone if you extend your contract for two years. Sign here." Granted, they can read what they're signing, but if they don't I'll have to deal with it later.
Even if I'm right, I'd rather be right and know that the customer knows what's going on so they don't come back and yell late...

Not breaking the contract is the deal. Although he was using the service. That was the only thing- At least say something about signing another contract to accept the free phone. Thats all don't blow it up.
Look here (just an example)
me : My phone broke
rep: well i cant fix it. But I can give you a free phone.
me: Oh really? Thats awesome.
rep: here is your phone. Sign your first born.
then I go home thrown off by the "sign your first born" and OMG that rep had me sign another 2 yr contract.
I will never see that rep again
Now if I was told what I was signing and explained. I would definantly give my business to that same rep.
