Hi, i have t-mobile and my contract is up (1 year) however ive had it now for 1 year 3 months.. i want to switch to nextel with my number.. is there a cancelation fee?

Also, my friend had t-mobile for less than 2 months, he also wants to switch carriers and numbers.. will there be a cancellation fee.

If you have a contract for a period of time and cancel or switch carriers (which is essentially cancelling) then yes you would have a cancellation fee. You state that your contract was for one year and you have fullfilled that one year and have gone month to month for the last three months. In that case there should not be a cancellation fee. Your friends situation is another matter. If he/she has a contract and desires to end doing business with that carrier before the contract term he/she would indeed have a cancellation fee.
