what goes along with an unlocked phone?
I recently bought an unlocked Motorola V635 off ebay. Now I know that this allows me to use any gsm network, however being a t-mobile customer, will this mean I will get slapped with roaming charges? Also, how does my phone detemine what network to go on.

Your SIM card determines what network you will be connected to. You have a Tmobile SIM card, that is the network you will connect to. That and the agreements your carrier has with other carriers. For example, Tmobile has an agreement with Cingular in certain areas. It also has agreements with other carriers in other areas.
