Boost Mobile i740 to Nextel
Hi everyone,
a friend of mine has an i740 that he had with Boost Mobile. But he also has an account with Nextel and wanted to use his Boost Mobile (i740) phone with his Nextel account.
So he put is Nextel SIM card into the i740, but it asked him to enter some code.
Does anyone know what exactly this code is for? I'll try to find out what code this exactly was, but shouldn't the SIM card allow you to use a different phone as long as it is the same technology (iDEN)?
Also, since Boost uses nextel's network, shouldn't it work fine?
Thanks!

It's locked to Boost, so it has to be configured to Nextel.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know how to unlock it from Boost so that it can be used on Nextel?

I'm sorry, but Boost Mobile iDEN handsets can not be activated on monthly service with Sprint. You can take a Nextel iDEN handset which had been on a post paid account and use it with Boost Mobile service provided you purchase a $19.99 Boost Mobile Starter Kit which does include a 64k SIM card as well as $10 of prepaid service.

Don't listen to the tool, do some research from the internet and e-bay, and you can find a way.

really? cause i've done it.
it's just more work than it's worth.

nextel used to do boost migrations using the boost customer's existing equippment, phone number and direct connect number. all you had to do was buy a 128k postpaid sim card for like $19.99. I have done a few of them (new act's only) and you get transferred to the correct department and then you get supplied with the subsidy lock code.

you have to get ahold of boost cust care, and keep talking to people until you get someone that knows how to do it.
that's my experience anyway.

Ah ok cool thanks everyone!
But I guess it seems like it would be a lot of work just to get that working.
Thanks!
