Question about Prepaid

Hi everyone,
I had a question about Sprint/Nextel's prepaid service (if one exists). I saw something on the website about a spending limit program, but does Sprint offer a prepaid program that does not require any contracts or any credit checks, etc. that is required of normal plans?
Basically, I would like to purchase the Motorola ic502 that operates on both networks. Since I'll be using it only for specific periods for only certain months, I believe that a prepaid sort of service like Verizon, for example, has would be appropriate for me. I would like to have the Nextel Walkie-Talkie function (since everyone in my group has it already) and therefore I would also like to have voice service from Sprint too. But I do not want to have any reason to be locked into Sprint's service since I already have another cell phone. I would like it to be somewhat "disposable" so that I only pay for what I use. No text messaging or anything; just make calls, use walkie-talkie whenever i would like and if I don't need it, I don't want to use it or have to pay for it like I would have to with a contract.

Is this possible with Sprint?

Thanks in advance!

Wait till Boost comes out with a Power Source phone, or get a free Power Source phone, when available, and buy your way out if you decide to drop the service.

Thanks for your reply. But when you mean "buy your way out," I assume you're referring to paying the ETF right? because the thing is, I wouldn't want to necessarily "drop" the service. I may only use it for about 3 or 4 months out of the year. So I don't want to have a contract which requires monthly payments, and constantly paying ETFs would become very expensive.

That's why I just thought of a prepaid plan - so that I could just pay for the amount that I use (and I could still reuse the same phone).

Do you have any suggestions?

thanks in advance!

Sprint does offer a "month to month" calling plan, which requires no contract(a credit check is still involved). It is $39.99/month with 200 day time minutes and free nights and weekends starting at 9pm. Walkie Talkie is 15 cents per minute OR you can get unlimited for $10 extra a month.

Also you have to buy the phone at full retail cost, which for the ic502 standard is $249.99 and the extended is $269.99 (WORTH the extra $20 bucks)
