i have the 730 and last night i put it in the washer by mistake (left it in my pants pocket) i dont have phone insurance so i know that i will have to pay full price for a new one, but what im wondering is is that is there any other way to get around paying for a new phone or do they have used phones that i can buy for a cheaper price? or should i just pay it? i have a gov acct and ive had the 730 for about 5-6 months.

Thanks!
Jake

Well even with the NSP insurance it doesn't cover water damage. You could take out Signal Insurance and then claim that you lost it, but you would still be responsible for the deductable.

Either way it's going to cost you $$$.

I would recommend not taking the above advice unless youโ€™re interested in Fraud.

Ooooooooooooo...fraud. Like there's any way to prove he didn't lose the phone. Stop being a boogeyman.

So I'm taking from that comment that it's ok for a consumer to screw the service provide over. Naturally that means the service provide can return the favor. ๐Ÿ™‚

No, you can take it as "the carrier has no way of proving otherwise". Clear now, Skippy?

Yes buddy, crystal. If done properly though proof that the phone is working is needed before insurance can be added.

Thats gonna seem kind of strange though, you buy insurance and then alluva sudden you lose your phone.

Its kinda like the husband that buys family insurance policy on his family and alluva sudden they die mysteriously.

Its going to seem kind of suspicious. But, they hve no way of proving otherwise, I suppose.

I have to disagree that it doesn't cover water damage. My cousin had an i95cl which he accidently dropped into the toilet when he was drunk. Insurance replaced it and he payed a $50 deductible.
