buying Sprint phones...no penalty??

Does anyone have information on when a Nextel customer will be able to buy a Sprint PCS phone without having to pay the $200 cancellation penalty with Nextel??

After the FCC and the Justice department approve the merger would be my guess. Which i'm aiming for 14 months until that date give or take a couple months.

be very patient with this merger and its network migration period and things of that nature....

the main point of this merger is that in 3 or so years that nextel/sprint wants to entice the iden users to go to sprint by using qchat.

in the meantime, or after the merger is closed, which belive would be closed and cleared by the end of this year or early next ( i belive nextel and spritn have already filled paperwork with the doj and ftc, so we should be hearing from them in about a month or 2. ) we will be seeing dual phones (iden/cdma) according to nextel and sprint from the teleconf merger announcment.

no one knows if nextel or sprint will give any rebates on those dual phones or any phones on each other's service, but that will...
