Turning off Nextel alert

My buddy works at a cell phone store and he turned off his DC alert inside his phone without haveing to call the nextel support. Does anyone one know how it is done?

Adjust the volume. That's how I silence mine when needed.

yea. go to menu, press settings. go to DC/GC options. go to where it says "alert time" click ok. then it shall say ring, vibrate and silent. pick silent press ok then press end end end.
