How do you think the lawsuits (US Unwired vs Sprint & Partners vs Nextel) will affect the merger? Does anyone think it'll go away quietly prior to FCC approval (payout) or wait till the companies merge and then get hit so they can start their Sprint-Nextel endeavor in debt?

I'd imagine they'd want to come to a settlement or squash it somehow so it wouldn't intrude upon the merger.

nextel partners isnt suing nextel to stop the merger. they are just suing them to include them in the whole branding situation as well as to protect them with whats called the put option that nextel partners has.

with us unwired they are trying to stop the merger, however, it wont happen. worst comes to worst sprint buys them out and then us unwired cant say anything becuase they will be brought in.

sprint/nextel actually doesnt have a lot of debt, and after the spinoff they wont have a lot of debt on their books either.

i think the 2 lawsuits are just noise and it will clear away pretty soon.

ie- its a non event.

Talk about rude....he was offering information that he had available to him, which I happened to find very informative, because I hadn't heard of these two legal actions, and he explained it....and nobody else here had taken the time to do that, so why don't you shut your pie hole and go bug someone else?

S'funny, but I thought you and I had made it past these little skirmishes. Guess not. Nextel's post was completely off-topic in regards to what the gentleman asked about: Would these legal actions effect how fast this merger could take place. Instead, he decided to drone on about stuff he knows next to nothing about. You'll notice I didn't resort to using derogatory statements towards your p...

Above is presented showing that this particular legal action bears no threat to interferring with the merger. Original post asked about how actions would affect merger. I'd say that's on topic.

Well, in response to muchdrama, you are right, I should not have resorted to personal attacks. And since it seems KCShadowDragon has put you in your place alot better than I did...I respectfully bow out of this conversation.... 😎

So what? People aren't allowed to add there own personal opinions in? And correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't explaining how the legal actions were a non-factor basically mean the same thing as saying that nextel18 was explaining why he thought that they WOULD NOT affect the merger? Your just playing with words now.

As you said...personal opinions.

Jldnr77,

You'll quickly see muchdrama never addresses the issue. He'll find a small piece of what you said and argue that. Generally it's completely unrelated to the current discussion.

Case in point, re-iterating personal opinions when you clearly pointed out what nextel18 said was in fact a direct answer to the original question. Non event would easily equate to no effect on the merger.

Hey! And I'll reiterate...again. We all have our opinions.

thank you sir, I appreciate the kind words. I actually don’t pay attention to what muchdrama says anymore. Whenever, I see a post that was replied by him, I just don’t say anything back to him, because he has nothing informative to say. he is just a waste of space, in my opinion, because he has little or know knowledge of the wireless industry. he works in circuit city, and because of that, he thinks he knows more about this industry then me, which is a complete joke. to be frank, I think he is just someone with nothing else to do so he attacks others who are filled with knowledge.

oh well, I guess.

I gave enough information as I could with the two suits, because I didn’t want to confuse that other person who asked about it. if you n...

Using that same logic means I could get top dollar working as a mechanic because I changed oil at Jiffy Lube for a while.

Rock on. Financial security hear I come!

That would actually be "here I come". And I was just pointing out that I've sold quite a few carriers and I follow their movements pretty closely both here and on other sites.
