Rumor around here is once the Sprint NEXTEL merger is all said and done they were doing away with the ptt service. Is there any truth to this or in fact just a rumor????
That's a big negatory.
Push to talk solution will be another one of their products that will differentiate themselves from the competition.
If it was the case, then why did Nextel secure qchat and why is Motorola working on a dual mode phone that supports the gateway between the two push to talk services?
Does not make sense. 🙂

Man you got me excited for a minute. I was really hoping that they were doing away with that annoying beep. There is nothing more annoying that having to listen to the constant stream of beeps and both sides of someones phone call.
Why do you think I got rid of my Nextel service after two weeks?
Nextel is the best with walkie-talkies and will always be the best, even with qchat.
why do you think boost is doing so well? 70 percent of the MOUs are direct connect. that shows us something. (the average per day price is $1.50, so that isn’t cheap)

You may want to let Qchat get commercially released first there, Skippy.

what?? i think that beep thing is kinda cool. its a trademark because everyone knows that sound, and know you have nextel. i like that better then the ready link beep on sprint. oh well hust my opinion..
Yeah, everyone knows that sound, and people don't give a damn how intrusive it is. Loud and obnoxious.

That's why you keep it turned down in the settings. If someone doesn't that is a user issue not a company issue. I find it humorous that you purchased a Nextel product knowing that was their number one feature. Then canceled 2 weeks later out of annoyance of said feature.
So happy I could amuse you, 'cause this room amuses me to no end...so returning the favor tickles me pink. Perhaps you'd like to know the real reason I decided to get rid of Nextel?
As for turning down the settings, yeah, that'd be great if the majority of people cared about other folks...but down here in South Florida "rude" is a way of living.
